Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

1. Policy Statement
LPI Education Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. As Director and sole consultant, I recognise my duty to protect children from harm and to always follow statutory safeguarding guidance.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all consultancy activity where contact with children may occur, including:
Lesson observations
Pupil voice sessions
School visits during the school day
I will always work within the policies and procedures of the host school/organisation.

4. Safeguarding Principles
The welfare of the child is paramount.
All children, regardless of background or characteristics, have equal rights to protection.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
5. Safer Practice
I hold an enhanced DBS check, renewed in line with best practice.
I complete annual safeguarding training, including updates on KCSiE.
I will always follow the host school’s visitor and safeguarding procedures.
I will not work with pupils 1:1 in unsupervised situations.
I will always maintain professional boundaries.
6. Responding to Concerns or Disclosures
If a child makes a disclosure, or I witness a safeguarding concern:
Listen: take the concern seriously, do not promise confidentiality.
Respond: reassure the child they have done the right thing.
Record: make a factual note of what was said/observed, using the child’s words where possible.
Report: immediately share with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) of the school.
Escalate if necessary: if I believe a child is in immediate danger, I will contact emergency services (999) and notify the DSL.
7. Allegations Against Me
Any allegation made against me will be handled in line with the school/organisation’s policy and statutory guidance (KCSiE Part 4).
I will cooperate fully with any safeguarding procedures.
8. Information Sharing & Data Protection
I will follow statutory guidance on information sharing (WTSC 2023).
Safeguarding concerns will be shared with the DSL and recorded in line with the school’s procedures.
I will not keep safeguarding records beyond the agreed purpose.
9. Training & Review
I commit to regular safeguarding CPD, at least annually.
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if guidance changes.
